Nice to read an independent traveller's take on Telunas. I'm a huge fan, having been there to run writing camps for students many times.
I've always been there with a group, so I've wondered how others would take it's 'rusticness' - no hot water, a/c etc. But I think there are enough people like you in the world who appreciate this place. It is special!

Venessa, I too had to fork out a similar amount, first for a ferry from Singapore to Batam, and another fee for the ride from Batam to Telunas. As the resort is private (and hence small in scale), they probably aren't able to offer packages with reduced transport fees.

I see it as a complete package, where a higher upfront transport fee is offset by the remoteness of the resort and affordability of their rates (food included!).

hi would like to know if u actually took a package there? Cos i am looking for a package. As i have searched, and i found out that travelling there will cost $84! From SG to batam to Telunas. So was wondering if there is a package.

I really enjoyed sitting by the balcony and reading my book, or going snorkeling in the slightly further waters which had a better view. Lazing by the private beach and getting a tan was also nice.

There was even a crazy guy who borrowed the kayak and went across to the nearest island (he became a speck on the horizon)!

I am headed to Talunas this January with a bunch of friends. Can I ask what your favorite activity to do was?
