Singapore: Your Infocomm Opportunity

by James Chan on 25 Mar ’10

My ex-colleagues at Infocomm Investments cued me in to their latest marketing video, which profiles a trio of entrepreneurs talking about their experience setting up shop in Singapore; namely Dr. N. Rao Machiraju (Chairman & CEO, reQall), Ruben E. Maislos (COO & co-founder, Pudding Media) and Steven Goh (CEO & co-founder, mig33).

I believe what they said is true, but I also believe a lot of what they said had also been edited and endorsed by some Marketing & Communications department of some government agency. I’d much rather see a video with higher energy levels, that has them talk about both the good and bad, and the ways in which they have coped with the challenges of setting up an offshore R&D/HQ presence in Singapore for the first time. Such corporate sales-ish videos look good, but often fall short of their intended effect in the eyes of the entrepreneurs that are hacking and slashing their way through the bushes.

Does anyone have a HD video camera they can lend me? I’d love to shoot a bunch of folks I know, talking about their experiences unscripted and uncensored.
