Happy Birthday, Uzia!

Today is my fiancée Uzia’s birthday. I made her a card and wrote her a poem, in lieu of a present. I’m glad she didn’t get mad that I chose not to get her a present. It’s the 4th birthday that I’m celebrating with her since we’ve known each other. I’ve been making her cards ever since, but I think this iteration is my proudest creation ever.

And here’s my sorry attempt at a poem. I stopped studying Literature after I was 14, so you must forgive me if it comes out bad heh.

Happy birthday, I bear no present,
Save money we must, lest you lament.
We’ll chase our dreams till kingdom come,
With privacy, as the rule of thumb!

Happy birthday, many more years ahead,
Yet today is what I’ll treasure instead.
You miss me lots, you miss me not,
And when you don’t, Pokey Pokey shall fill that spot!

Happy birthday, this card’s all I got for you,
Oh and this poem too – you know I don’t have to!
We’re made for each other, you and I;
The Optimist and the Pessimist, can they see eye to eye?

Happy birthday, I wish you well,
On this day, before the night fell.
I can’t wait for that day to come faster,
Whisper into your ears, forever after.

We’re getting married on December 9, 2010. It’s a big step for the both of us, but we’re both looking forward to life together, after. I have to say, it’s not easy for me to juggle work and wedding preparations, but I’ll just have to do my best!
