Startup Roots Speaker Series #8 Preview – Our Fellows

This Speaker Series will be our fellows’ final week with their respective startups, which is why we thought it would be cool to put them in the spotlight instead.  We’re going to hear each of them spend 5 minutes telling us what they’ve achieved and learnt over the past 10 weeks, and wrap up their summer fellowship with a bang (and free food). Let us know if you’ll be joining us this Thursday evening.

Startup Roots Singapore closes off an awesome summer with our Fellows taking center stage. Hear them present their accomplishments over the past 10 weeks. Mingle with our speakers and friends of Startup Roots.

And yes, there will be food and drinks graciously sponsored by Pivotal Labs.

6.45pm: Fellows talk about their Startup Roots experience
7.15pm: Startup Roots Q&A with the Fellows and Founders
7.30pm: Mingling and dinner (food is provided)

This week’s event will be held at Pivotal Labs’ new office at 53A Craig Road, not hackerspace.

Be sure to grab a ticket and save yourself a spot. We need the headcount for the food order.

See you there! And follow @StartupRootsSG for more updates.

And here’s our inaugural Startup Roots Singapore fellows, in no particular order of merit.

Anuj Bheda

Anuj (@anuj89) comes to us from NTU, and has spent his past 10 weeks at Chalkboard. Prior to Startup Roots, he had spent time as a Software Development intern at Paypal, and an Assistant Producer at Singapore-MIT GAMBIT Game Lab.

Laurence Putra Franslay

Laurence (@laurenceputra) hails from NUS, and has spent his past 10 weeks at Chalkboard. Before Startup Roots, he was Director of Technology at NUS Entrepreneurship Society and Web Developer at HuluTech.

Sharon Paul Lourdes

Sharon (@sharonlourdes) is our only female intern from SMU, and although we aren’t focusing on business interns for now, she did enough to convince us to accept her and has spent the past 10 weeks with Docubuzz. Girls in tech FTW!

Adrian Cheng

Adrian (@adriancbjie) is an Information Systems student with SMU and did his fellowship stint with ViKi. He loves coding and has been involved with startups.

Divyanshu Arora

Divy (@divyanshuarora) is from NUS and was only able to spend 7 weeks with Playmoolah because he had to leave early for another stint with an Israeli startup, but he’s such a cool hacker we made an exception anyway. Divy hangs out with the NUS Hackers, and was previously an intern with Aleph-Labs.

Satyam Agarwala

Satyam (@satyamag) is from NUS and spent his 10 weeks with Anideo. Before this, he was a Consultant and Network Analyst at Rocket Fuel and a Developer with the IBM Tivoli guys in Singapore.
